Mez is changing almost everything about it. He never sleeps so it should be done by tuesday.

I Don't Like Volkswagon Beetles
There i said it.
Oh man that felt good to finally get that off my chest. Its been a cloud over my head for far to long now. I can't sleep, i can't eat and i'm tired of living a lie.
I don't even care about oval this and square that or even those indicator arms that swing out and the taillights that are cooler than the other ones. I'll even go as far as saying Kombi's are highly shit as well. Yeah that's right hippie, i said shit, put that in ya pipe and smoke it.
I only mildly like Manx buggies, oh wait there fibreglass right? That's ok this add from 68' proves fibreglass kit cars are old school.
Ha and you thought fibreglass was just for old guys in Hawaiian shirts.

Works Slow
I got some time at work to make some progress on my wheel of fortune.
It was to square so i rounded the ends and used some boat builders glue to attach the wooden grips.
I actually didn't think the glue would work and i would end up making bolt on aluminium grips but it worked a little to well and have no idea how to polish around it?? I probably won't. Not that i'm bothered it was only something fun to make when works slow.
I only had a small welding job to do in the morning and then 7 hours to muck around with this and read a magazine. I'm not complaining!
Anyways i just gotta sand it a bit more, stain the wood and build a car around it.

Ampol
Graham Withers and his $8000 rail, fuck i'd give him 10k for it tomorrow!
An add from the Dec 68' Australian Hot Rod mag. Are Ampol even around anymore? they must have been bought out like every other servo.
Which reminds me of a story my uncle and dad used to tell me, when once my uncle took his Valiant to a mechanic at a Golden Fleece service station whilst him and dad went to the pub and told the guy "Just fix everything that needs doing." and when they came back to pick it up the bill was more than the car was worth and my dad told the guy "We've just been Golden Fleeced."
Maybe you had to be there........

Drags
I went to the nostalgia drags and all i got was this t-shirt.
If your anywhere near south east Queensland there'll be some sweet drag action being thrown down nostalgia style at Willobank on saturday yo. Did that sound gangster enough?
Anyways the poster for the show sucked almost as much as this shirt design, and i could have put a cool photo of a drag car but i'm lazy and that might be misleading to readers.
As for me i'll be doing body work all day. Yep all bloody day.

Chopped is however worth every cent. http://www.chopped.com.au

Boaters Grave
It's my new favourite place to be in the world and it got me thinking how cool an old wooden speed boat would be. Don't worry the blog won't become all about boats anytime soon, just thinking out loud.
Anyways i tryed to buy one maybe 6 years ago now, but it just ended up a wild goose chase i kept secret because i had a bad feeling my hopes would be dashed.
Needless to say i'm still boatless.

The Hardtop
The last two weeks i've really stepped up the time spent doing body work to try and get it finished. Hence the lack of blog posts.
Only problem is when i stood back to look at it this afternoon i looks like i've done nothing. It looks the fucking same! I am soooo done with body work.
Anyways someone asked if i'd finished the motor. Short answer yes long no.
I finished the rebuild months ago but never fitted anything to it. I stopped to do more fuckin' body work.

Fizz Gig Manor
Roving reporter and fellow Working Class Zero staff member Cam took these photos for me on a visit to ol' man Fizz Gigs farm.
Unfortunately 'The Milky Way' drag ute is getting a new life as some sort of shit custom no doubt, whilst the Buick's days are finally over.
Good work Cam, i'd like to say the cheques in the mail but your union fees are over due. Maybe next time bud.

39' Ford Rescue Mission
Old mate Poddo found a chassis in the bush near where he grew up in Ipswich whilst dirt biking many years ago. He told me he'd found what he thought was a model A chassis and i hounded him for years to show me.
Anyways i wore him down and we went for a look. It turned out to be a 39' Ford chassis dumped in what must have been an old farm dumping ground.
There were remnants of old pedal cars, kids trikes and old bike parts. There were some old oil tins that had "Golden Fleece" painted on the side and an old fridge or two but nothing looked newer than 1959.
When the creek flooded the dump would go under water and 40 years of this meant everything was rusted beyond saving including many of the parts on the chassis. But being hotrodders the plan was to save it anyways. It was free after all.
The pictures tell the story better than i could put it into words but i can definitely say that it may not be everyones idea of a good time, but its adventures like these that for me make my life worth living.
These photos are in random order. This is how it looked after sitting since at least the late 50's
My guess is that the car was in an accident and the motor and body pulled off.
