I had no hand in this what so ever but my 7 year old nephew wants to be a Fitter and Turner! Not a fireman, not a police man, not even a bloody zoo keeper but a Fitter and Turner. THIS makes me very happy and when "Poppy" said he would bring him round my house to see how a lathe works he thought that was cool. Sure he may change is mind and end up an office clerk, but for now wanting to "make metal shapes in machines" is enough for me.

Eight Sides
Fuck I'm bored waiting on parts. At Christmas they told me end of January start of February, then it was end of February start of March, know it's who are you again? I'm dead set starting a hotrod shop, I'd only have to give half the customer service to earn a living.
Anyways since all i seem to do is walk around my garage looking lost, today i thought to match the coffin tank I'd have a fair crack at making an oil tank.
This is as far as i got before i knocked over an empty beer bottle and broke glass everywhere and decided diner was more important. Shit happens, but someone should definitely build a bike and put these parts to use. That someone could be YOU? You can have em' for next to nothing if you let me build a sissy bar as well, i got a killer idea for one to match.

Coffin Tank
Had a little spare time at work this week waiting for some painted parts to come back from the painters, so with nothing to do I thought I'd make something. I don't know where the idea to build a coffin tank came from, just something quick and easy i thought i could get knocked on the head real quick. As always whenever you start building something the parts turn up and i had to finish it at home.
Anyways the first day i played around with a full size template, just like the saying "Rome wasn't built without a template."
Happy with the template I high fived myself before transferring it into sheet metal. Normal panel steel is 0.9mm usually but i used 1.1mm. Doesn't sound like much but this tank could cop a beating, super solid but not in a heavy way. The tank was built based on the measurements of a Sportster tank. It's as long as a Sportster tank, half an inch out of the overall height and an inch narrower.
Perfect fit makes for easy welding.
Cleaned up the welds and shazam the end result for now. Still needs a filler neck, petcock, and a base/tunnel. Obviously i don't have an intended use for this tank so the tunnel will get made if i ever find someone with a need for it.

Dave i would definitely pay money to see you ghost ride this whip.

Thats Fuckin' Art
I know art mate and that's fuckin' it!
I cut some ally up and made a box to practice some welds after having an attack of the shaky hands after the xmas break. I did some more welding today and it looked worse than this so I'm thinking about joining the arts and craft movement and selling 'Folk' art to the tourists.
Originally it went in the bin but i guy at work fished it out and did a quick polish jobie, so now with a plant in it and I'm going to give it to me dear ol' mum. In give i mean sell.

A friend Sam i used to work with sent me this current example of what he's working on for the University of Queensland. It's something to do with an experimental rocket that when it reaches outer space it get propelled by compressed oxygen and may one day deliver parcels slash humans from Australia to America in under a two hours......or so they say.
